Who We Are

Built on Service, Sustained by Community

Trauma Recovery/HAP Story

The Trauma Recovery Network (TRN) was born out of a powerful response to tragedy. Following the 1995 Oklahoma City bombing, Trauma Recovery/HAP mobilized mental health clinicians to provide pro bono, evidence-based care directly at the scene. Since then, this model of compassionate response has grown into a structured network of trained volunteer therapists ready to serve communities impacted by disaster. Rooted in preparation, mitigation, rescue, and response, the TRN continues to carry forward this mission, bringing hope and healing where it’s needed most.

Our
Story

Get to Know Us

We saw a need—and we felt called to respond. When our community began facing more frequent and intense trauma, we knew we couldn’t stand by. That sense of calling led to the creation of the first Trauma Recovery Network ever established in the state of Kansas—a milestone we are proud to hold.

Since then, we’ve continued to grow, building strong partnerships and creating a place for volunteers like you to make a real difference. We’ve deployed in response to several critical incidents and have joined forces with the Kansas City TRN to support communities during times of crisis.

Our work is grounded in compassion, collaboration, and a shared commitment to helping others heal. If you feel called to serve, we invite you to be part of our ongoing story and the impact we’re building together.
